10,000 Trees Project Inc. is a provincial, national and international award winning, environmental organization dedicated to transformational economic stimulus through environmental activism.  10,000 Trees Project is an incorporated, non-profit group with full charitable status.

Originally, 10,000 Trees Project Inc. was conceived as a grassroots volunteer organization with the sole purpose of planting 10,000 bare root trees within the city of
Waterloo, Ontario, on public lands at no cost to the taxpayer.  Since this initial goal was
surpassed in 2008, the organization has evolved into an educational vehicle as well. Broadband technology is being used to create an information portal that allows teachers across Canada to download prepackaged curriculum on the subject of tree planting as a social action tool to build communities and combat global warming.

Today, 10,000 Trees Project Inc. continues to demonstrate national leadership with their successful methodology for attracting and encouraging volunteers, government partnership and corporate sponsorship focused on environmental action.

Recipe for Success

The future plan is to continue to grow the network so as to have a lasting positive impact on the economy while ensuring environmental sustainability for the community.

“We could think of no more profound, yet simple act
one person could make, than planting a tree that would live for a century or more to cleanse the air,
cool the earth and stabilize the soil."
